Migrating from Librato¶
Librato users will be very familiar with the dashboards, charts, alerts and composites used in host and infrastructure monitoring and custom metrics monitoring - that’s because AppOptics is built on the experience we gained from creating Librato. If you have a Librato account you may be able to transition to AppOptics.
Librato changed the underlying data model from single dimension (using sources) to a multi-dimensional model (using tags) in early 2015. If you have a pure multi-dimensional account, we will be able to flip a switch so that you can access all your dashboards, charts, metrics, alerts, and composites through the AppOptics app. Your account is tags-only if you signed up after January 24th, 2017.
Hybrid accounts (accounts that support both sources and tags) and accounts that only support sources currently do not have a migration path. In this case we recommend creating a new AppOptics account.
Note for Librato customers: If you already have a Librato login you can use it for AppOptics as well. Any admin on an AppOptics org can invite you to the organization; you can then just use your Librato credentials to log in. Keep in mind that you will NOT be able to use your Librato login to create a new organization. Once the new organization is created you can invite your own Librato account and then log in with your Librato credentials. Please contact support if you have issues signing up.
